Why is it that when we go into someones office like our accountant, or lawyer or whatever, and they offer us coffee or soda or something else to drink, we always say no thank you? when we clearly do want something to drink and maybe even a snack? Thats weird. If my people are reading this you are on notice...I do want something to drink... and a donut. And the meeting doesn't start till I get them!

If I'm thirsty and someone, no matter where, offers me a drink, I always say 'Oh, yes please!' or 'I would love one!' Maybe it's a cultural thing?
Yeah - I'm with you, Mark. "Oh, no thank" you comes out, without so much as a quick mental inventory to see if I am, in fact, thirsty. Bizarre.
iT'S THE SAME WITH "Didja want ketchup with yer fries?" What! Am I afraid I'm gonna put the clerk at the window out?
Crazy!
Aha! I suspect it is a vain attempt at trying to control the situation. Perhaps a new tactic could be to refuse to talk until we finish drinking our coffee and donut. The games we play...
Cool observation on your part.
I'm loving Jerry's excuse. (I mean, observation.)
Switches the power off the office-holder and on to us.
Maybe it's 'cause we don't want to be there in the first place and we don't want anything that will prolong our stay. Maybe we should ask for a goody bag and take it TO GO. (Sigh...should I even bother w/the "mind out of the gutter" remark? I'm thinking, there's really no point.)
It's true...I could be dying of thirst and I'd still say "no". I did that with the nurses at the hospital while Lu was there. They'd ask if they could get me something and I'd say "no". every. damn. time. Even though I meant yes. I think I just didn't want to take up their time. Luckily some of them ignored me and brought me stuff anyway. Lol.
