Well there seem to be 2 entirely different schools of thought on this one. Which is correct?
"Out of sight, out of mind"
Or
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder"
Im not entirely sure on this one, either because I never had to worry about it before or because I am slightly over or under medicated and have a hard time focusing my thoughts.
What do you all think?

I think the absence makes us fonder at first, then we begin to forget and move on. It's a coping mechanism.
I think these two schools of thought can not possibly be applied unilaterally across all circumstances.
Please don't seek out the negative.
I'm pretty confident you'd be hard to put competely out of mind.
I think that when someone's not around, you'll miss them but then if it's too long, you forget to miss them.
Yeah. The world, according to me.
You might want a second opinion on this...
From my own experience I waffle between the two. It's a crazy ride in my head...
Hang in there.
All lovely answers. Thanks. I'm no nearer to finding out which is correct but I did enjoy your views on the subject.
My family has always said "Absence makes the heart grow fonder...of someone else." But maybe we're just a restless lot.
I miss my husband when he's gone and tend to forget the things he does that drive me crazy until he returns. Everyone needs a little break now and then.
Hope that helps.
